My intent is to be present for you and create the space for you to explore what's important for you in your next career or role and to inspire you to take the steps necessary to make significant progress towards your goals.

This should be an exciting time for you as you look to recreate your professional life in a way that aligns with your values and/or lifestyle needs, but it can also be a scary time, and you may feel some doubt and apprehension. In this liminal time, my promise to you is that I will be honest and reflect back what I am hearing from you and try and help you get clarity. I might also remind you from time to time, that one of the gifts we have as humans, is the ability to transform. I will walk that path with you and I encourage you to approach this with curiosity and be open to exploring your full potential.

Coaching is different for every client. As coaches, we are trained to adapt to the needs of the client so there’s no formula for working with clients. While each client is different, I will share my approach to coaching and set some expectations because if you are new to coaching, I am sure you have many questions.

What happens during our journey

You are probably wondering - how does this work? What am I getting myself into? Those are good questions. I had those questions myself when I started working with a coach.

Below is the overall structure of a coaching engagement:

PRE-WORK

  • Discovery Call - we meet briefly to introduce ourselves, briefly discuss your objectives and goals with coaching, talk about the coaching process, and answer general questions. We then decide if we want to move forward.

  • Getting to know you - After the discovery call, you’ll complete a questionnaire that might take about 15 minutes to complete. It’s the start of providing information so that I can best get some background information from you, what you’ve already done, and what you feel like you need.

  • Intake Meeting - The Intake meeting is where we go a little deeper into what you need, we’ll set up some working rules and answer questions before we start our coaching engagement.

  • Get ready for our first session! Depending on our coaching objectives, we might just plan our next session or we might discuss doing some pre-work or even doing an assessment to help gain clarity for our coaching.

THE WORK — COACHING SESSIONS AND BEYOND

Now we get to the actual coaching work. I like to say that a coach’s job is to help their client unblock the path forward. Many times, we know what we need to do, but there are things blocking us from taking action - stories we tell ourselves, the inner critic is hard at work, fear of the unknown, or it’s just too overwhelming to know where to start. I’ve been there myself. I will walk with you and guide you down that path that is uniquely yours.

I will be present for you, listen, and reflect back to you what I hear and sense from you. I will ask that you stay curious about all the things - what will emerge from our work together, what you discover about yourself, and what the universe has in store for you.

For our sessions, you will provide the topic or focus and I will offer the process for exploration, refinement, and open up possibilities for potential work after our sessions. A lot of the work happens outside of sessions. Deeper exploration, investigation, and reflection are all things that can result from our sessions.

If we are doing career coaching, we may have a more structured path, but we will still make room for you to reflect on what’s coming up for you as you do this work. When exploring a new career path, it’s important to allow yourself to sense into what you are feeling to ensure that you end up on a path that you are deeply connected with. Your body will signal to you what feels right for you and I will help us connect with your inner guidance.

At the end of our time together, we’ll reflect together on our journey and where we landed in regards to your goals and if you feel that you are on a good path for you to continue your work alone. We may agree on some formal, less-frequent check-ins or just that you will check in when you feel the need.

I invite you to ask further about what to expect and the structure of coaching sessions during our discovery session.

What is Coaching?
